ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The academic year begins on September 1 and ends on August 31 of the following calendar year. The educational work of each academic year is divided into two study semesters, the winter and the spring semester. Each semester includes 13 weeks of teaching. At the end of each semester follows an examination period lasting three weeks.
The academic calendar specifies the start and end dates of:
- the courses of the winter and spring semesters,
- the examination periods of the winter and spring semesters, as well as the resit examination period in September,
- the Christmas and Easter holidays.
The academic calendar also includes the official holidays of each semester. It is announced before the beginning of every academic year, following a decision of the Senate of the University of West Attica.
